For those who follow me on Instagram, you may have noticed that I am traveling to Rio de Janeiro quite frequently. And not only to visit my family, but also because of a partnership I have been developing with the Starwood hotel chain. Even though I spent most of my life facing the Sheraton Rio Hotel, I had never been inside. Well, the day has finally come!
I was there last week for a close look on the hotel’s recent renovation. I was really impressed. They invested almost US$ 50 million on the first phase of the makeover!
It is the only hotel in town with direct access to the beach (it is almost private, a real dream come true). And now it boasts a fully refurbished reception, new rooms, new suites and, also, a SENSATIONAL spa – the Shine Spa – as well as a brand new Sheraton Fitness gym. The bars and restaurants were also remodeled, including the L’Etoile, which is, in my opinion, one of the best restaurants in the world, signed by the renowned French Chef Jean Paul Bondoux.
The second phase of the renovation is about to start and will be concluded in 2015. It will be focused on the external area of the resort, that has three pools, Jacuzzis, tennis court, a kids club, two restaurants and a bar.
It is hard to believe there is a resort like this right in South of Rio de Janeiro, right by Leblon. To sum up this wonderful experience, we stayed at one of the Sheraton Club floors and got to enjoy their complimentary breakfast, drinks appetizers and the magnificent view at the new Sheraton Club Lounge, located on the 26th floor.
Of course I didn’t resist and shot some looks at the hotel. I will share them with you little by little, as I tell you all the great news about this incredible oasis and the pleasure of being in Rio de Janeiro.
